Hawks footy report
Despite starting the game poorly (maybe too many stayed up late the night before?) Hawks warmed to their task and played a very competitive match which they ultimately should have won or at worst drawn. The opposition started strongly and Hawks sat back and watched as Kings Langley’s direct football caused plenty of problems. It was no surprise that Hawks were 2 down at half time. However the latter part of the first half had shown signs of improvement and so it was that Hawks woke up, dominated the second half and drew the game back to 2 – 2. With plenty of chances Hawks really should have pressed home their advantage but, as so often happens in these situations, in the dying moments of the game a rare opposition attack ended in a rather fortuitous goal and we were left puzzled at how Hawks had let the game slip away from them. Plenty though to be positive about in a largely exciting game.
Dads notes Should have won. Bense chipped the goally well and Andrew smashed in on the line. Had a few chances but bense seemed to lose bit of confidence. Had a great 1 on 1 chance and goally made finger tip save with seconds to go they sent down other end and a fluky deflection scored an own goal. Well played son. You cant win um all.
