Footy Report
Jags played out their final game of the season in the grounds of Ashlyn school in Berkhamsted and with 5 minutes to kick off only had 7 players. However, eventually we got started with a full team and after an even first 10 minutes took the lead. The game remained tight for the rest of the half but Berkhamsted scored twice to take a 2-1 half time lead. Unfortunately no one for the Jags wanted to play in goal for the second half and it was left to a key defender to bravely put his hand up and volunteer having never played in goal before. The second half started and Jags immediately equalised and the match was well set up. However, our lack of an experienced keeper was cruelly exposed and we conceded 4 goals in succession and found ourselves 6-2 behind even though we had equalled our opponents in possession. Jags did have the final say and scored the goal of the match to leave the final score 6-3. The end of a really good first season for the Jags with much progress having been made by the team. A huge thanks goes out to Brian Hodgson and Dan for all their efforts – from the boys and their parents.
