Benson footy
The Jaguars were away to Hemel Aces and came up against a well-organised and disciplined team who passed the ball well and didn’t make many mistakes. The Jaguars also played with discipline and good team work. However, the majority of the first half was spent defending while the Jaguar attacks were normally repelled by the strong defence of the Aces. Jaguars were down 4-0 at half-time but it was a great credit to the team that not once did their heads drop and they came out to the second half with more commitment and discipline than in the first half. Twice the Jaguars were unfortunate not to score a goal. And although they again had to defend valiantly, they managed to concede just a single goal to make the final score 5-0 to the Aces. Despite the score line, the continuing improvement in the Jaguars was clear to see and with more training they will be more competitive against teams as strong as the Aces.
[Ed – I have checked the League table and Hemel are a strong 2nd so, yes, this was actually a pretty creditable performance – well done boys!
Dad. Benson played very well. Few deft touches, great through balls and good shot. Unlucky not to score.
