Footy

Following on from Friday’s second half, Jaguars attacked well in the first half this morning and took a well deserved 2-0 lead in the first 15 minutes. Having had chances to make it 3-0, just before half time Berkhamstead scored with a long range shot. With the wind behind and playing down hilll Jaguars looked for the killer 3rd goal but alas it wasn’t to be. Berkhastead scored from a scramble and went ahead from the first of two debatable free kicks on the edge of the area. At 3-2 down a huge clearance set up a chance for 3-3 which crashed off the bar. The second free kick made it 4-2, rather fortuitously, the ball being pushed onto the bar by the keeper which then rebounded back off the keepers head into the net. The 5th goal came right on the stoke of time. A fantastic game from which Jaguars deserved much more.

Dads notes. Benson scored 2 and hit bar. Played blinding. Well done son.

Unfortunately i missed the game and the goals.

2 cm screamer apparently. Lol

Benson Footy

It’s great to write a match report again after 3 months. Shame about the result though. Jaguars lost 7-1 at home to Hemel Town Youth, the scoreline didn’t reflect the game, as far as scoring chances go Jags had just as many as Hemel but weren’t able to finish them. An even first half saw Hemel score just before the break and, after half time, Jags had a couple of good chances to equalise. Hemel though scored 2 – both long range shots – and then twice more caught Jags on the break as they pushed forward. The goal finally came to make it 5-1 and from a Jags corner Hemel cleared and counter attacked to make it 6-1. The 7th was a shot from way outside the area right on full time. Nevertheless, the boys really enjoyed being back playing again – and on a beautiful morning as well.

DADS NOTES Benson was man of the match – had a few great chances, shot outside of the box, header from a corner, one on one with the keeper. Did a mazy run down left wing and crossed in it – NEO / Connor should have scored…
