What an end to a fantastic season for Hawks. The sun was out, there was a nice pitch to play on and every one of the team turned up to play. Hawks started really well passing the ball around and looking like a good team. This good work paid off and Hawks got to half time 1-7 up. The 2nd half continued in the same vein and the game ended 2-12: a really well deserved win and excellent performance.

Hawks turned up to this match with one thing on their minds.. to be champions 🏆!! And to be fair the boys didn’t disappoint, with the wind blowing a gale you knew this wouldn’t be a classic …. but who cares as a win would be sufficient, got to half time 1-0 up 2nd half started and I don’t think our keeper had a save to make while we piled on the pressure… managed to get the second and that’s how it ended 2-0. And Hawks are now officially champions. Congrats to all the boys for being such a great bunch, to Ross (outstanding mate) and David for steering the ship, all the other volunteers for their parts and, of course, to Chris for setting the boys on their way.

Hawks were away at a windy Chorleywood for their opening Spring Cup fixture. Into the wind in the first half was hard – and the football was messy. But they got to half time at 1-1 and with the manager thinking that with the second half should be a breeze… But how wrong was he…after 10 minutes they were 2-1 down! In all fairness to Hawks it was Chorleywood’s only shot on goal. Hawks did manage to play some better football and scored a great leveller to make it 2-2 and it was then attack attack attack! There were a few controversial decisions about whether the ball crossed the line or not that were always adverse. Still, the pressure finally paid off and Hawks got a good 3rd goal to end it at 2-3.
